Differences in Aux Inputs
Differences in Aux Inputs
Hey guys and girls, I'm new on the board and just recently purchased a 2005 TSX . Just wondering what the differences and purposes between the SNHOND3 Aux Input, the PIE HOND03-F/MM, the BLITZSAFE HON/AUX DMX V.2X. and BLITZSAFE HON M-LINK DMX V.1. Also, which is the more preferred link. I had a AVIC D1 with the Pioneer/Sirius tuner (would be great if I could find a way to use it with the OE HU). I plan on adding a Sirius unit, and haven't decided if it will be easier to go the Sirius FM Direct (modulator) route, or go with the Aux In. I like the idea of having the sound come though the Aux channel, but was wondering, if I went with the Aux in, will I be able to control the channels also, or just volume through the factory radio/steering wheel controls?
Thanks
Thanks

A better question you should address first is how you plan on getting that D1 into the TSX. The TSX does not have any capability to hold a double din unit. Your stock HU is tied in with HVAC and computer controls, and cannot be removed without significantly impairing the features of the car. There are no 'adapter kits' for double din units either. The few people who have had them done did so with significant customization and fiberglassing of the center console; a very custom ($$) job.
Otherwise, for an aux input, I suggest the usa spec pa11-hon2y. Its one of the few units that will work flawlessly with the TSX HU, and it provides RCA aux input as well as a direct ipod cable option, should you choose to use one. It is also the cheapest, fully featured solution.
