DICE and USA SPEC List of Questions
I know that we have so many threads about DICE and USA SPEC out there, but I think it's better to have a thread with a list of questions to answer everyone's concern.
1) Do you lose XM?
USA SPEC: No (with Y cable)
DICE: No (if you don't want to display text). Yes (if text is displayed)
2) Can you control the IPOD through your steering wheel?
USA SPEC: Yes
DICE: Yes
3) Do you lose control of your IPOD while connecting?
USA SPEC:
DICE:
4) Can you use the headphone plug (i.e. sending out video to navi screen) while connecting?
USA SPEC:
DICE:
5) is there any XM audio bleeding issue?
USA SPEC:
DICE:
6) For the XM audio bleeding issue, does this happen everytime when you start the car or does it only happen when you unplug/plug the ipod?
USA SPEC:
DICE:
7) what happen when you unplug/plug the ipod while the car is running?
USA SPEC:
DICE:
8) Does your ipod pause when switching audio source (i.e. CDC -> FM)?
USA SPEC: Yes
DICE:
9) Does it resume the previous track upon returning looping through the audio source?
USA SPEC: Yes
DICE:
10) What other known issues for these units?
USA SPEC:
DICE: sometimes it fails to detect the unit upon starting the car.
11) Will it charge your ipod while connecting?
USA SPEC: Yes
DICE: Yes
So far this is what I got. Don't hesistate to post your answer.

I can post the answers from my own experience only. Dice R4, 2006 TSX w/Navi. iPod Touch 16 gb. Dice is set to CDC mode and simple iPod mode:
1) Do you lose XM?
DICE: No (since, I'm using CDC mode). I could give up XM in exchange for diplaying text.
2) Can you control the IPOD through your steering wheel?
DICE: Yes
3) Do you lose control of your IPOD while connecting?
DICE: No.
4) Can you use the headphone plug (i.e. sending out video to navi screen) while connecting?
DICE: Havn't tried.
5) is there any XM audio bleeding issue?
DICE: Yes, when turning on the car when it was shut off in CDC mode. Fix it by cycling through the audio back to CDC mode.
6) For the XM audio bleeding issue, does this happen everytime when you start the car or does it only happen when you unplug/plug the ipod?
DICE: When starting the car if left on CDC mode before shutting it off.
7) what happen when you unplug/plug the ipod while the car is running?
DICE: The iPod pauses.
8) Does your ipod pause when switching audio source (i.e. CDC -> FM)?
DICE: Yes
9) Does it resume the previous track upon returning looping through the audio source?
DICE: Yes
10) What other known issues for these units?
DICE: Havn't hit any yet

have anyone tried to disconnect their XM unit and still get the text and navi working?
I'm trying to figure out which unit is best to purchase but it seems like each unit has its own problem, making it harder for me to decide

Technical Service Bulletin... aka RECALL. Its due to a faulty XM module that was included on some 2006 TSX's, including mine, and it sounds like yours too. They replaced it for free.
