Dice iPod Adapter Question

I just picked up the R4 adapter for my 2006 MDX. I am loving it so far. My question is, I hooked up a Sirius Starmate to the Aux input on the unit. I am using the cigarette lighter plug for powering the Starmate. I am getting horrible engine whine when using the Starmate. Could this be from the cigarrete plug. Can I cut the plug off and just hard wire power for the Starmate. Any thoughts would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

You can't cut the plug off. The Starmate uses a lower voltage input. You would need to pull the plug apart and solder leads onto the circuit board to hardwire. OR, you can purchase a female cig receptacle. Radio Shack usually has them for around $5. The female receptacle will give you the pos and neg leads to hardwire it.

Is your power cord running alound the same route as your audio cable? If they are separate them and see if that helps. You may need to use a noise filter inline.
