Diamond Audio Sub Enclosure help
Diamond Audio Sub Enclosure help
Next week I want to create a box for my subs that have been sitting in my closet for about 7 months. They are Diamond Audio M610D4. The pic is the specs the enclosure should have. It is direct from the manual that came with the woofer.
Now, I am a complete noob when it comes to building a box. I have never done it before. I have no idea what these numbers mean nor do I know what type of wood to use and how to properly seal it. Any insight will be real helpful. Thank you!
EDIT: I should specify that I want to make a sealed enclosure.

im not an expert, so im not sure if u can build to boxes and have separate chambers for each, or just build one box w/two holes. Hopefully someone with more experience in the matter can chime in.
"Vb is the volume trapped by the speaker and box"
So
Cubic feet = Length x Width x Height in inches divided by 1728
The primary concern is with the internal dimensions of the box, don't count the thickness of the top, bottom, sides, center panel (if any).
JL has a tutorial site on just this: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=141

so since the box i want has a Cubic feet of .75
.75x1728 = L x W x H or 1296 = L x W x H
so i could make a box that is 12 x 12 x 9 and it would be ideal??

if i buy the materials, is anyone willing to make it for me within a week?
You can measure the volume of the driver by
1. wrapping it in plastic
2. dunk it in a bucket full to the brim of water until the mounting flange is level with the brim of the bucket
3. removing the driver from the bucket and
4. using a measuring cup to refill the bucket.
VB is in "Liters"
You can also contact Diamond & ask them for box diagrams. I know Image Dynamics does. As a matter of fact they might do it for you even though you dont have one of their subs....really nice guys.
