Default Navi Code

The 01 CL-S I purchased is still set with the previous owners defaults. The dealer said he would contact the previous owner and get her code so I could reset the personal address etc. He did not supply the codes and only took 5 months for a title. Is there a default code so I can personalize my navi unit or will I have to pay a dealer for this?

Thanks in advance for your help.

awraynor....the way I was able to get into my "user 1" setup was to use the navi anti-theft code as the pin. hopefully, you have both the radio and navi anti theft codes, if not, they are suppose to be on the side panel of the glove box, or on a card issued with the car manuals. Otherwise, you will have to get the code(s) from the dealer using the VIN. I am not sure, but it may have to be the original dealer who has the codes..hope this helps.

I don't see you being able to get the codes from a dealer, unless the original owner gave them to the dealer. If was the old owner I wouldn't want someone to have access to all my stored addresses and info.

You'd probably be better off having the dealer reflash the navi to the factory specs to erase all of the old info in there and you can start fresh with it

Gibson, I got the navi anti-theft 4 digit code from the original dealer, and entered it as the user1 pin as per nav handbook, and I was able to access all of the previous owners' saved destinations as well as their home address....so when you "sell" yours, you might want to delete your saved destinations as well as your "home".

There was no card with the car and I did not see a sticker on the side of the glove box. I called the dealer to see if he could look it up by VIN and he said it has to be the code off the rear of the NAV dash unit. That of course will be one hour of labor for removal and reinstallation. I am getting more frustrated with this car and ACURA everyday I own it, not that I don't still love the car mind you.

I did find this site when looking for some info on the radio codes. If it is real, it looks like it can save you some money.
