Question In-Dash TV

Does anybody know what kind of motorized tv monitor I can put in instead of the little compartment above the head unit???
I saw it in the gallery on the first page #31, 32, 33.

if you are reffering to this pic in the gallery....then it is owned by snook/tim the owner of this site...but i believe it is a pioneer avx-7000 screen that has been taken apart and put in the dash......this would be a custom job....you might want to talk to streeteffectz he could do it for you im sure...

Except for the front cover, the screen is intact. However, I had to cut several places behind the dash, trim the top of stock HU a little bit, trim the AC controller box a little. The approach can be different unless you use the same screen as mine.

Didn't mean to give you flak about your install man Sorry if I upset you...it looks great though, congrats on a good self install. I was just trying to offer advice and an outsider's perspective...

Sooslik: Although I'm STILL deciding on my setup, video wise, if you want to go non flashy I suggest you get a screen and then you carbon fiber the top so that it looks good with the dash. It's relatively easy to get a solid black fiber (aka not the carbon fiber look...the black look), then heat it and mesh it onto the top, so that it follows all the lines of the top of the screen, the buttons, the logos, etc. Definitely a good stealth install.

mine is a slight variation for those with the Navi unit.

I yanked the stock radio and moved the navi unit down with a custom trim panel and then added a pioneer setup where the stock Navi unit would be. I have the DVD changer, tuner, playstation and tv tuner hooked up to it.

Stylin Silver Sled,

That set-up is clean. Great job on it! What kind of audio system are you running now? And where did you put the face unit to control it now that you yanked out the stock one. This looks to be something I'd like to do.
