Man, you guys crack me up...I've been following this thread since the beginning, and I, too, am awaiting the almighty Streetz to provide the kit...I have been riding in my car with no center console for about two years...As you can guess, I was elated when Streetz decided to make the kit for us...BUT am I sweating the length of time it's taking??? NO!!!

When Streetz gets to it, he'll get to it. It's not like he owes us anything, right?

Anyway, I am getting caught up in the hilarious episodes that I've been reading.

What I REALLY wanted to say is that I bet Streetz is reading these threads, and laughing his ass off...

 

Just popped back on here for a few and came across this. The kit is being worked on, and I'm STILL waiting for someone to bring a car by for the day so we can make bracketing. We're booked for months with custom work, so if we're taking too long to make the kits, no one has to wait. No one's money was taken. I do have a memebers factory headunit, which I've had for a LONG time, this is true, but I'm just waiting for someone to come by so I can make bracketing for it, and still need the factory radio face as a guide.

And for the record.....METRA and Scosche/EFX themselves have had their kits in "development" for over a year now, and they are MUCH larger than we are........

 

streetz i can't dog u out. quality takes time. who gives a hoot if there wasn't any money exchanged. why didn't u just call acura and have the face plate sent to u, and hack and slash it, take what u need and mount your part. the brackets r a pain in the rear. good luck

I actaully e-mailed a few of those "larger" companies about a kit for the TL, and Best Kits said they had no plans in the future to make a kit fo the Tl, and the others (metra, scosche, etc.) said the same...I mean, come on...they make one for the Kia Rio, and all these "lame" vehichles, but no TL!!?!?!? WTF...

I'm in support of Streetz all the way on this one...Someone in the area needs to stop by and work with Streetz...I would, but I live in Los Angeles...Let's just make this happen, regardless of time...

like ron said, its not a priority of his and he shouldnt have given a time frame since he has so many other projects. thats really the issue, time frame. like i posted earlier, you can what for metra to be done with their 15 dollar dash kit in october. of course that final date may change, thats actually up to the manufacturer.

as for you ron, send the HU back to that guy. ill send my HU next day ups to you. you just say the word.

 

Where is his shop located? If its in So Cal Maybe I can make it.

 

i have a member setting up an appointment for the fitting and bracket mounts. so maybe this will help things along.

oh, and i appologize for turning this thread into a drama. its not my style and i did act childish for a 38 year old.

Don't worry, my butler is a 5'8" 135# Blond/Blue bombshell. She would never "kick" your ass....but she might put a big smile on your face if she visited you...

Remember, I paid $220 for my dash kit so I'm not looking for the cheap ass Metra route.

The ONLY point I was making was about the timeframe. As such, this has gone too far for too long. Whatevah.

A friend of mine and I took a lexus kit and reshaped it, took and hour. Looks and feels great. The only problem was installing the brackets to hold the damb thing. Also I hate the head rest design, I had to reshape the head unit to fit the tv's in there. I hated the system that came with the car so I took it out of my Z(the best car ever) and three days after I bought the car I was cutting out the doors so that I can fit 6.5 speakers.

Just got the part number of the new Metra kit from them directly. I asked them why they don't have a kit for our cars, and this was their response:

"The kit is too new to be on the website yet. The part number is 99-7868"

 

how much and do you have a picture?

 

No photo. just the info i posted. I have to find a local stereo store to order me one. If they are really avaible, then I'd guess they cost as much as their other kits, like 20-40 bucks.

 

all doubters call metra and find out. i'm giving info that is 100 % real. if u don't belive then don't post. i don't have time to prove credibility, i'm not on trial

 

huh? what are talking about? no one has you on trial or has questioned anything you have posted in this thread.

 

We would like a picture, of what the face plate looks like. Maby the company could e-mail one of us a photo of the part. I would order one if I was able to see that it was a quality part, otherwise I would almost rather waiting for one of you guys to post a pic. I think we are all worring about if we will keep the luxury style inside, not something that looks half a**ed. Has anyone recieved this product yet?

 

hey residual freedom wether you are talking about rons face plate or the one by metra i can assure you that neither one will be half asses.. metra is probably the biggest aftermarket installation kit manufacturer in the us and we have all seen the quality of rons work... but honestly if metra has a kit out i dont even think that ron will bother cuz metra can mass produce these kits and ron would not be able to compete with the price...

 

You seem to know alot about installing, I have a 98tl with a kenwood kvt910 dvd unit and kenwood eq, and all cadence speakers on the inside which sound great, I just brougt a jlaudio 13.5 W7 and the amp that I have is just a kenwood kac-ps400m mono, it says it's 1200X1 at 2 ohms. what would be your suggestion?
