just put in some Polyglass 165's in my CL and damn it.. these speakers tell no lies, all my old scratched up mp3 cd's sound like barf, so much hiss and crackle.

Of-course HD radio and regular CD's sound excellent.

um no thanks, i like it fine here in 1994 with mah CD's.

 

Focal tends to over-exaggerate some frequencies which will lead to an initial perception of "transparency" and what I would call a "clinical" sound, but very quickly this over-emphasis of certain frequencies will fatigue the ear and create subconscious irritation with certain stuff.

You can RTA-analyze with a mic and some software, find the exaggerations, and EQ them out. Not only will you find more of your music sounds OK, you'll probably be much happier with the overall sound quality as a whole.

 

They r nice components just hope u have other items to be worthy of the focals. I loved mine but when i went back stock i sold them
