Convert japanese language legend dash etc to english

This may have been covered before; if so please link me to that thread. Had a brief search but couldn't find anything.

Here in New Zealand we don't get Acura much, mainly because of the right-hand drive issue. Instead we get lots of Japanese imports (in addition to NZ new).

I'm looking to get a 2nd gen (~2005) Honda Legend. I'm particularly interested in the adaptive cruise. It appears that NZ new Legends never came with adaptive cruise (and tend to be a lot more expensive than imports) - and potentially the loom doesn't even support retrofit. But all the dash instructions / messages in the imports are in Japanese.

So my question to you guys is this: What component(s) control the language displayed to the driver, and would it be possible to replace them with English-based Acura RL components?

Hi I am from NZ too and thinking about buying a 2005 Legend. Did you end up buying the Legend and if so did you manage to be able to change any of the dash displays to English?

Dude... This thread hasn't been touched since 2014, and seeing as that's the only post by the OP, I wouldn't count on him rushing back anytime soon
