Connecting iPod via RCA or Line

I didn't see a thread that directly related to this, so here go's...

I'm looking to get a simple setup: just a Blitzsafe AUX for my 01 CLS non-navi. But that connects via RCA, so I'd have to get an RCA -> Mini to plug into my iPod via the headphone jack.

Blitzsafe also sells a Universal Ipod Interface that hooks the RCA -> iPod "docking style" bottom port (which I believe is a line-in). This charges the iPod too.

But my main concern is sound quality difference between going to the mini headphone jack or the line-in on the bottom of the iPod. Any experience? Thanks in advance.

I can't say for sure but I'd imagine that interface works the exact same way a miniplug-RCA converter does.

Look how Blitzsafe spells auxiliary...

I can't speak for the Blitzsafe, however I use the rca-mini jack connection in my Explorer. My headunit has an aux input. Sounds fine. Line in & the headphone jack should give the same sound.
