I recommend you run them active off your JL amp. High pass 3.0 - 3.5kHz for the tweeters, low pass the same for the woofers, and high pass cross point ~60-70hz ish.

Definitely let them break in before "evaluating" them in full. And make very sure that your door is deadened and sealed like I said before, its speakers like this that will really test things.
