Code alarm

A good friend of mine owns a stereo shop called Soundsation here in Staten Island. He sells Code alarm and I would get a good discount. I dont know if im feelin Code alarm though. Anyone have any experiences with it. I had a Viper 550ESP w/ up and down windows in my last car and I was happy with it. Any input appreciated.

Well I like the compustar alarm also but they want $1000 for the compustar and I can get a similar Code for $450. I just heard that the range on Code sucks.

I installed Code Alarm on my last car (Integra) and I only have two words to describe it... IT SUCKS!!
Everything works...except after a year or so, it started to "loose range" although I did pay extra to add that "extended" range. Anyhow, after 2 years of usage, i literally have to be right next to the car to arm/disarm it...when I said next, I meant NEXT to the car..ei arms length. Yes, I've changed batteries in the remote etc numerous times and that didn't help at all...opened it up, cleaned it and everything. Code alarm offered a lifetime warranty..but when I took it in, they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it and charge me $50 labor..WTF? So I ended up living with no range and lost the $50...but I vouch to never go with Code Alarm again...ever!

Yeah im good friends with the owner. I've spent like 5-6k in there, a Zapco AG1000, Zapco AG650, Diamond Audio subs....any many more. But I also am not feelin the Code alarm stuff. So I think ill just pay the price for compustar.
