Clifford Avantguard 4

Hi! I am looking for a reputable or authorized clifford installer around NJ. I live in New Milford, NJ. If there is none close by, i am willing to drive down to NY to get them installed, especially with the situation about HID's being stolen.

Also, i wanted to still keep the factory alarm system working if possible?

Pls.let me know the name, address, contact number and person i should speak with. Also how much does it go for?

Thanks,
Jessie888

Hey Jessie. I used to work at a car stereo and alarm shop, and still do occasionally in Exton PA about 45 mins west of Philly. I'm not exaclty sure how far away that is from Milford NJ, but we are an authorized Clifford dealer, one of the only ones in the area. There's one in Pittsburgh and a few in NY, maybe NJ but not sure, call up Clifford if you want to check. The shop is called Sound Advice. I installed the Avant Guarde 4 into my car, but it definately wasn't an Acura 3.2 TL. But my boss at the shop will be able to put it in your vehicle. It's a small shop, but they do great work, and you can trust them. The number is 610-280-7747. The assistant manager is Jeff Voshel. He would probably be the one to install it for you. Give them a call and let him know what kind of car you have, etc and to work out a price. The alarm retails for about $800 or so, then decide what options you want to add. There aren't too many that the Avante Guarde doesn't have. And you can also keep you stock alarm system but you really wont' need to after you put the Clifford in. I would try and set it up for you, but i'm at school right now in philly and don't have too much time on my hands. So give him a call and let me know if you're having any trouble.
Jeff

Jessie, my buddy Jeff just quit his job at the shop, so I don't think that they'll be able to put the alarm in for you anytime soon, at least I wouldn't trust anyone else there, but I will let you know if they hire some more trustworthy installers. Also that alarm has just about every possible feature you could want, or it is an optional add on. The better question is what that alarm doesn't have.

It all depends on what model you get.
Most mid & upper end models have standard on them (BlackJax) Built-In anticarjacking self recovery sub system. This will only allow the car to be driven a block away if you are carjacked. The car will stall brake lights headlight flash full siren will go off. The carjacker can't restart car & will be forced to leave it. What you have is a code that you enter anytime any door is open on the car. This code is changeable & system can be put into a valet mode or you can turn that part off. If someone tries to enter codes radomly the system ignors them for a few min. The coded switch is mounted in plain veiw for easy access. Other features are Remote Adjustable Daul Sensors you have like a 32 step adjustable higher or lower pitch range.Selectable siren duration times you can have it wail for 30/60/90 min duration.others are like RPM auto lock that locks your doors when the car reaches a certain speed. This can be turned on/off LED Battery saving mode ruduces voltage consumption if car is left park for two days or more. Clear all remotes -if remote is lost or stolen it can never be used again. False Alarm control & Test this system technology assures against repeated false alarms that other system have.
Cliffords have so many other features & Sensors to many to name. go to www.clifford.com

Jessie with the AVANTGUARD 4 I think you get everthing except the kitchen sink. I have a Clifford Guide that I got from the alarm shop that installed my Clifford IG8000 almost 2yrs ago when I got my TL. I should have got the AVANTGUARD 4 but did not. I did not wan't the window closer feature & I was kinda worried about autostart at that time & I kick myself now.
I can get it added to my alarm for about $125.00 but its not a big deal for me. I also did not need the rain check or nightvision feature since I drive with my lights on all the time anyway. I did add the pager to my alarm & the ClifNet PC Interface. The PC Interface allowsdirect access to the nevrve center of the system making it easy to change some features. I also added back -up siren to my alarm this already comes with yours along with other sensors that I added to mine. Like I said you get almost everything with that model alarm. Please make sure that you have the installer go thru every feature with you. What you want to do is set the sytem up the way you want it. The RPM autolock is called Selectable Autolock/ Unlock. Make sure you have it just lock the doors when you drive off. It also can be set to unlock the doors when you put the car in park this is not good if you are in a bad area. This unlock feature can be turned off as I sure did mine. I also had the the Autoarm feature set to lock the doors everytime I leave the car. This will overide the feature that the TL has in if you leave the keys in the igniton the door will not lock. This can be turned on/off by installer. I had mine set to on becase I always keep my spare key in wallet. Just ask the alarm shop what sensors do not come standard with your alarm. Your alarm might not come with some sensors that you might want to add. This would be Dual -Zone Onmi Sensor
