Smile CliffNet Interface

Alright, I FINALLY got my dang CliffNet interface for my alarm. For those not in the know, its this nifty cable that plugs into the brains of your clifford alarm and the other end plugs into a standard serial port of a computer. Then, there is this software that lets you do all the 'user settings' and also 'control' the alarm from your PC. User settings are like customizing your alarm sounds, when to lock the doors, how to vent the windows, how you want your autostart configured, what valet code you want.. etc.. etc.. After playing with it, I'd say get it only if you plan on changing your settings constantly or you just absolutely can't deal with the arcane method of changing the 'user settings' through the valet switch. The price is 35-45 bucks unless you got some 'connections' Otherwise, its a pretty cool toy to mess around with . You can go around sayin "wassup, I programmed my alarm from mah computer, what yoooo gat?'

bdimc, hope you're listening, cuz this was a promised review for you when I 'finally' got the thing

Miwa,

Thanks,

I had it installed when I got my Clifford IG8000 Alarm. This was back on 12/29/99 the day after I got the old TL. I have only used the CliffNet Wizard a few times. I don't own a laptop but my godduagter that lives down the street does. It is a nice feature that lets you customise your 15 different alarm sounds. It also can help installer find any problems if any fast.

Thanks! great review, Well, I haven't had the money for an alarm lately, b/c I used that to take the A+ certification course, I'll probably get the alarm in the fall or winter when, I will probably need the auto start.
