Clarion Corporation of America today announced that it will unveil at the 2005 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) a fully integrated iPod solution for its new VRX755VD in-dash DVD player / monitor combination. Clarion will also be showcasing a new CD receiver solution for Apple's popular music player at the show.
Scheduled for a February 2005 consumer launch, the VRX755VD's touch-screen, seven-inch monitor will provide fans of Apple's popular music player with a unique iPod experience. With an easy-to-use onscreen control pad, users will also enjoy the VRX755VD's convenient onscreen display, which contains playlist, song and artist information, a clock and any engaged sound enhancement features.
Scheduled for a mid-2005 consumer launch, Clarion will also unveil an iPod interface solution compatible with Clarion's CeNET-equipped source units (includes CD receivers and in-dash DVD players with monitors).
"As part of its long-term corporate vision, Clarion is committed to today's Mobile Infoentertainment age, an environment where consumers can access information while enjoying sound and visual entertainment," said Matt Matsuda, President of Clarion Corporation of America. "This new iPod in-car solution is a significant step in achieving this vision."
A major focus of Clarion is creative, innovative in-car solutions for automobile manufacturers. As the world's most popular digital music player, Apple's iPod presents the mobile electronics industry with the perfect platform to integrating into the automobile.
"iPod has revolutionized the way you listen to music by allowing you to take your entire music collection with you anywhere," said Stan Ng, Apple's director of iPod Product Marketing. "The car is one of the favorite places to listen to music and Clarion's innovative solutions allow music lovers another option for easily listening to iPod in their car."
Clarion's VRX755VD in-dash DVD player / monitor combination has been named a 2005 International CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award nominee in the Mobile/Vehicle Electronics Audio/Video category.
