Changing Keyless Entry Honk

Hey all,

Anyone know an easy way to change the honk the TSX produces when pressing the lock button twice?

Is there a way to change this to a classy chirp like the TL?

There is no easy way, unless you want to replace your horn with a little chirp. Bet that would suck when you actually needed the horn.

can we bypass the wire that connects the alarm to the horn to a chirp module? I have no schematic for it, but I've seen my old cars where the manufacturer wanted to save cost, they connected the alarm chirp to the horn, have no idea why(for a few cents?). I am thinking it might be the same as in the TSX.

Here are you 3 chioces:

1. Aftermarket alarm.
2. Give up your horn and replace it with a chirper.
3. Tear open the control module, cut circuit traces, solder on new connections.

The horn button in your steering wheel, leads into the alarm module. Not the alarm module leads to the horn switch. There is no easy fix.

I love your option #3. So, when ya gonna get to it?

Hey, thought I'd let you know e that I'm going to put an LED in my armrest storage box that works off of a switch rather than constant on as well as only on with the lights. Also, found some good LEDs to replace glove box and cubby. Total cost of all 168/194, #74, and LED mods, $34 + some time. I'll take pics as usual.

I have a way that I think may work. Get some kind of noise maker device and wire it through a relay.

Cut the wire going to your horn and wire it through a relay when the ignition is on the relay gets 12vdc the horn works normally. When you turn off the ingnition the relay switches from the horn to the noise maker you have selected.

The only prob I see is when the car is off if you push the horn on the steering the noise maker will activate and not the horn.

Remember, the horn is also the alarm noise, not just a chirp. I don't think I would want some puny little chirp to be my alarm signal...

Yeah, I think I'd prefer it to be loud. It is funny to me that they made the honk so loud to confirm lock. Sometimes I hit it twice and am sort of jolted by the sound, they could have made it a bit quieter.
