change speaker with a sub?

I have a brand new 12 inch alpine type R 4 ohm sitting in my room and i think i will put it in my TSX a few months after i get it...

Is it recommended I change all the speakers or will running the sub and limiting the bass going to the rest of the speakers be fine? I heard that the stock speakers are pioneer and sound great but have trouble hitting some bass...

The factory amp will not push that sub, if that's what you're asking...

I'm guessing you'd have too much bass...But maybe someone here has tried that and can answer better...
