CDA 9807 Anyone have one??

Im looking into getting a new CD player and im really interested in the Alpine CDA-9807. I have read a lot of good reviews on websites, but i was wondering if any one here actually has one and what their opinion was.

i sell and install them and quite familiar with them, over all they are a great deck to go with. it is simple enough to use that it won't give you a headache, but powerful enough to give you a really strong sound. Durabilty wise i have heard nothing but good things about Alpine in general. feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

Sweet. Im hoping to buy one with xmas funds. Circuit City installs almost all their head units for free if its over $99 or whatever, but they exclude Alpine.
Why is that? Are they hard to work with or will i need an adaptor or anything?

I work for CC installing and we include it in with free install. I think it is an obligitory thing (namely it has something to do with alpine requiring that we install any deck that we sell for the customer to retain their manufacturer warranty or something, therefore the cost of installation is already built to the cost of the radio; but that is just my assumption, don't quote me on that since no one will ever give me a straight answer.) as for installing it into your Tl it is a piece of cake to do, I could be in and out in 15 minutes. if you are going to do it yourself get a philips head screwdriver, the dashkit, both sets of smart cables (both the Honda side and the alpine side) and check www.carstereohelp.com if you are unsure on how to get the old radio out. the big thing you will need to keep in mind is the potential to have to do a bose bypass (Honestly i haven't worked with the 96-98TL's so i don't know about the bose systems in the car.) I know in my legend i didn'y have the bose system so no bypass and in my 99TL it was a 4ohm system so the headunit was able to run it with out having to bypass the amp or change the speakers. Let me know if there is anything else you need to know.
