Just bought a 2003 tl type S A-spec. Needs a few things but runs great!!! Really happy with this car.
My CD player shows Er - E1 has a bunch of discs in it, nothing moves or plays.
Tried the slap & bang fix, no change.
Haven't tried the fuse trick yet.
Just wondering if it's worth fixing or replacing with a nab/audio unit. Any suggestions? What to you guys have for aftermarket?

My 2003 3.2 TL also has the same problem currently. I remember this happened all of a sudden around 1.5 years back.
Around 8 months back I tried the trick that was quoted in one of the many interweb forums of inserting another CD (mind you all 6 CDs were in at that time) and for a moment I thought that the CD player did load that CD (not sure how) but noticed that that also got stuck inside!! .
Now I have 7 CDs stuck in there. I also tried disconnecting the battery terminals and the re-connecting them to see if that allows the CD player to pop-out the CDs - however that didn't work either.
I keep getting the Er-E1 error when I press the CD button and try to eject a CD.
Short of removing the wooden-finish bezel (which will be messy) and then dismantling the CD player is there any other trick or way to get the CDs out without having to literally break this thing!!

The only other method I heard of was to spray contact cleaner into the unit and hope it loosens up anything that may be sticking. I might even try prying the discs out with a stiff wire if that fails. Let you know how it goes.
