Hey guys,
Im thinking about doing a car pc (carputer) installation on my car. I was first considering just putting in something like the avic-d1, but i figure why not just have a full blown pc in the damn thing.

My major problem is that I have a CL-P with no navigation, so I would need to convert the dash to fit the touch screen and probably move the ac controls etc.

I have absolutely no experience fabricating dash pieces so that is out of the question.

Anyone have any advice on how i can go about doing this, someone in NJ to help?

u know what.. im prob just gonna end up with a avic-d1... i dont need to be online while im driving btu it would be cool to let the passengers watch movies...

i heard about that new bypass! avic-d1.. wohoo

 

I was originally thinking about putting in a dvd unit, like the kenwood, but then I thought for $1000+ why not just put in a carputer that'll do everything the kenwood does, plus so much more...

 

but honestly.. what else are u gonna do with it? that something like the avic-d1 cant do...

 

For me, the big thing is having all my mp3's on the harddrive, and having easy access to them. All the ipod integration options currently available aren't very smooth. For me, I figure why not have all the extra features available if it's going to cost the same amount anyways?
