Car Audio Dampening Kit???
Car Audio Dampening Kit???
Question:
what is a good car audio dampening kit that is not expense and good quality?
Also, are the doors on a 07' TSX easy to take of and on?
Let me know if some of you have done this and post some pictures if you have any.

search the sticky thread for Sound Deadening something or other link.
It tabulates a comparison of products and approx. sq footage of material for doors, carpet, etc.
I personally used Ramaudio BXt on the doors. it damped the doors well using one layer of material on the inner metal sheet and one layer on the outer metal sheet of the door. plus a layer of ensolite... that probably doesn't absorb too much noise, but does keep the wires from rattling around. Don't cover your wires in case something needs to be repaired later.
Noise from the sides (passing cars) has been reduced quite well, but doesn't do anything to kill road noise from tires.
The door panels are easy to take off (and i'm not so mechanical.
1- remove screws from under the door handle plastic pop off piece
2- remove screws hiding within the arm rest (driver side, under the rubber patch in the cavity beside the window controls | other doors, under the plastic pop off piece on the arm rest handle)
3-Driver's side you may want to pop off the plastic cover opposite the side mirrors
4- begin to pop off the door panel. a spackling spatula might allow you to work into the gap and gain you leverage. once one pops the others are easy to get to. be careful not to bend too much
5 - disconnect the wire leading to the door handle
Voila...
please correct me if i missed a step (quick post)
