I'm trying to find out if this can be done... I was trying to find out to see if there is a headunit that can be connected with a portable hard drive via USB??? If this can be done please let me know of which headunits you can do it with. I'm really interested in doing this to my car as we speak.

 

yes it can be done. many headunits do this now as long as you have a usb slot on the headunit. my alpine ina-w900 can do this and i'm pretty sure the pioneer avic z120bt can too
