can anyone help me out here?
i was wondering if there are any wires in the trunk that i could tap into so i could have some neons back there...i was thinking that curtesy light in the trunk..i dont know if there enough power going thru there tho...i plan on having some of that neon wire...and like 2 other like 12inch or smaller neon tubes...and a strobe...
i was thinking maybe i could run the last there maybe on the 12 volt that the sub amp sued to use....but i have no clue how to get to that...and i have no clue how to wire stuff either...do i just expose wire and use some elec tape to close it off...or is there like somekind of clip i can use....so yeah..i need alot of help..thanx

wat u should do is tap into the existing trunk light... get your positive feed from there so when u open the trunk the neons go on... u don't want to tap into the positive feed of the sub because it will be on forever unless u have a switch... ur best bet is to wire it to the trunk light for positive and ground it somewhere... or wire it to your turn on wire from your amp.... that is what i did for my neons... take a quick look...
this is a pic of the neon from the inside through the skipass...
and these neons are inside the car... they are wired to a switch under the dash...

oh yeah and for ur hanging wire... u can just wire tie the wire to the top of the trunk... if u wanna get more "pretty" u can use that wire cover, i forgot the name right now but maybe someone can help me out... wrap that around the wire and then tie it up.. then it will be clean and golden...

u want to put six neons all in the trunk??? well that shouldn't be a problem cause i had other lights to the same source more than six items too... however do u think it will be a little too much putting all six in the trunk?? u said 12" right??? well let me know how it turns out and if u need nemore help but otherwise that should do it... i gotta go play some more in my trunk.. just got a solenoid today for my alarm... hehehehe

thanx..i have one more question for you...what did you use to connect the the neons to the trunk lights wires...did you just expose wire or did you use some special type of connector?

u can use taps... or what i usually do is strip a piece of the wire (middle) so it is exposed.. then take a scissor and split the line in half... insert the new wire u want the feed.. and twist and tape.. or if ur anal like me... solder and heat shrink... if u don't understand what im talking about ill take pics of the steps...

there are rubber stops that can be screwed out... screw them out as much.. also u can try to secure ur license plate... uhm wat else??? check to see if u can fill ur trunk lid to fill in the holes... if u can't afford dynomat... i used old socks and underwear... noone will see it cause of the carpet cover... otherwise i would just dynomat it.. i got alot for cheap on ebay,... i posted some pics of my lid and stuff in the first gen... but let me work on the pics for the directions for u.. and i will post it...

now that the wire is in.. twist and secure... and u will have something like this...
if u want a secure fit or are scared about heat or nething.. u can always solder that connection and then heat shrink over it... otherwise u can just put electrical tape around that and it SHOULD stay.. i mean its hard to break that... i just solder so i don't have a change of screw up in the future...
there is an alternative... if u don't want to strip and solder like i just showed u... u can always go to autozone and get something called TAPS... they are little clips that clip onto the wire u want to tap... inside there is a sharp metal that slices the insulation thus making contact with the wire... after u clip this on.. u plug a male adapter onto the end and there is ur connection (tap)... i don't recommend this because i HATE TAPS... the male connectors never go in right.. they bend... and i don't like crimping wires cause they can jiggle out... i am a fan of solder... good luck and if u have more questions ill be glad to help and post more pics...

wow..thanxs alot...its very helpful...now what should i use for the ground...i dont know where my amp is ground to cause it hard to see behind the wall...so i was thinking i just ground it to the trunk floor or the trunk lid...do you think that would work? also...how would i go about stoping my trunk from rattling...its weird...cause it moves the most( or its just more noticable) at the end of the trunk thats near the window...it moves alot..i unscred the bumpstops like you said...that helped allittle in hte front..but still..there alot...do you think stuffing cloth in the trunk lid will help that?....and someone said about adjusting the trunk latch...wheres that and how do i do it?..thanx

okay well ground is newhere u can find as long as it is clean... i used the trunk floor... just found a bolt that went into the floor and screw into there... as for rattle.. hmm u should really see if the lid itself is making the noise??? cause i know there where holes that went into the rear deck that caused the sub u push up on the mat that went on top.. that would vibrate alot.. u can stuff cloth in the trunk lid.. as long as u fill up the holes and there is no passageway for the air to travel... the rattle is basically air passing alone the ridges and holes and causeing that noise... kinda like when u blow across the top of a straw... u hear noise and stuff.. same concept.. just plug it up.. where in jersey u live??? maybe i can help u out if u close..
