Need some more info! I do this all the time with various videos. First of all, what kind of files are they? Are they vob, avi, mpeg, mpg, m2v, etc.? Depending on what type of file it is, it will determine how many steps are required to burn them onto a dvdr and what programs are required.

The head unit doesn't really matter. As long as it could read burned dvds you should be ok. Depending on the resolution, mpeg or mpg are compatible with dvds. The next thing you need to do is find out what the resolution of the videos are. The supported resolutions for NTSC dvds are 352x240, 352x480, 704x480, 720x480. The supported resolutions for PAL dvds are 352x288, 352x576, 704x576, 720x576. You can not mix PAL videos with NTSC videos. The whole dvd must be PAL or NTSC. Most media players (Windows Media Player, Winamp, VLC Player, etc.) will tell you this information. Hopefully, your videos fall in these resolutions. Once you figure this out, it will determine your next step.

Right click the file in Windows Media Player's playlist and select properties. It should tell you the video size.

Ok ya, my room mate figured out how to display the video resolution. Im one step closer to getting this to work, thanks again.

Would you please tell me what the next step is now??? What program do I need to actually burn the videos?

I dont know where your located but if you want to pick up the phone and call me to make this easier, I would more than appreciate it. P.M me if so.

Thank you again.

The next step will depend on the resolution of the video. If it falls within the resolutions that I outlined, chances are it can be burned onto a dvd. If not, they will have to be reencoded to dvd standards.

Ok so I dont need to use a specific program??? Is that why Nero failed, because I didnt use the right resolution videos????

Thanks.

Nero assumes that you already have all the videos in a dvd file structure. First you need to reencode the files if they are not dvd compliant. If they are compliant it will take alot less time because you will not have to reencode. This is a program that I use:

TMPGEnc DVD Author

The program has a trial period. If you can't figure it out, let me know and I will help you.
