Well before you go blaming it on Alpines quality....make sure that your installers are just stupid. I've put in my share of CVA-1000's, CVA-1005's, CVA-1006's and CVA-1003's. The problem of the unit not opening fully can be caused by (A) The iso mount screws on a CVA unit being tightened down to tight, causing pressure to be put on both sides of the unit and either causing the unit not to open/retract or to prematurely fail (B) The same thing can be caused if a trim ring of some sort is made and it is not large enough for the unit to fully open close without contact. Basically the trim ring puts pressure ont he unit while it slides in-out. Just an FYI for yah.
I never said I was blaming Alpine, or anyone else. ITs just back luck and I have alot of it. THe deck worked fine for about a month. This is one of the best install place in FL. The first time the deck fell off of track. My trim is pretty big acutally, the deck is just enough flush mounted so it wont stick out.
