It seems you're debating sealed vs ported boxes. If that's the case, it's partially dependent on what subs you got? Also, pre-fab boxes (sounds like what you're looking at) are terrible. They are "designed" for a wide range of subs. Therefore, they are not great for any driver. For this reason, I'd stay away from them. Now, back to the debate. Generally speaking, ported boxes are louder than their sealed counterparts. Now, the problem with the ported boxes is that you (generally) give up sound quality for the extra volume. There's also a difference if you play a lot of chopped and screwed music. For the C&S music, the bass is generally at the lower frequencies, and if your box is not set up for that (or your sub won't play below your tuning) you will likely run into some serious problems, especially if you're overpowering the sub.

Hes sayin u need to have a box built to the specs of your subs instead of just buying one at say best buy or something. Look in your owners manual and it should tell u everything u need to know about them.

A buddy of mine has a bassworx box for his P2s... It's not bad, but it's not the best... If you have the tools, you can build a box for much less that will do much better... You can always damage your subs, but it's harder to do in a sealed box.

It's more difficult to damage a sub by overpowering them due to the box helping out the suspension of the sub to keep it from passing it's mechanical limits. This is easier to do in a ported box because of the air escaping from the box (via the port), and thus, it's easier for the sub to pass it's mechanical limits...

There will be a big difference, yes. Most pre-fab boxes (the ones at Best Buy, etc.) are built designed to be easily mass produced. Therefore, they do not take the time to round corners, put 45's in corners, etc. These are the things that really make a good box.

One P2 is designed for a sealed box volume of 0.7 - 1.8 (cubic feet) and a ported box volume of 1.79 (cubic feet). It's up to you rather you want to build or buy a box close to those numbers. Obviously if the box meets those numbers it's optimum sound quality and better sound for your speakers.
