Boston's Pro Series

Lot's of folks here have recommended replacing the Bose spkrs with Boston Acoustic Pro Series 6 1/2's in the front and Boston's Rally series 6 X 9's in the back. I priced the Pro Series yesterday at Good Guys and they quoted $449 a pair. Anyone know a good place to get them for a better price? That's a ton of bucks!

purchased mine in myer emco here in va for $349 for the pros. one thing you need to know, you'll need about an inch spacer and may need to cut the door a little bit. i had to cut the bottom part a little cuz the wire connectors for the pros are just too big.

Thanks IcyCL.... Other guys have said the darned things fit like a glove so maybe there's some variation in installation between cars? You got em for a $100 bucks less than I was quoted.... Hmmmm. Think I'll continue shopping around.

I have that exact set up. Plus two Pro Series 10 inch Subs. I picked up the front and rears at Myer Emco hear in Va. They sound incredible. I think I paid around $650.00 for the Pros and the Rallies together.

Boston has a new 6.5 I think they are called "Z5" they run about $1000.00 a set. A little to rich for my blood, but the sound is unreal.

Good Luck.

hey rebeltruce. you live in sterling. i'm in ashburn. i purchased the pros at myer emco in sterling...one of those strip malls near shoppers. actually, i was incorrect..i got them for $339, not $349. just found my receipt. the pros do sound great. when my brother heard them he said the infinity's were no match to them.

by sound better, what are we talking about? clarity or loudness. I currently have the stock set up, but i'd like some more bass. I think a new 6X9's and possibly amp may fulfill my requirement. not looking for boom, just more then what stock puts out.

Yo Icy, got mine in Sterling too. Now that I'm thinking about it I may have spent a little more then I said earlier. I'll have to dig up my receipt to be sure.

Did you hafta talk them down or was that the price they were asking? I had my entire install done by the Sterling Myer Emco, they seem to be pretty cool guys there. The best thing is, they back their install up for the life of the car. Oh yeah, I'm sure they had to use the spacer you're talking about for the front.

beerknurd- Both. I can't say how they would sound just swapping speakers, but I can tell you they'll blow away the Bose Acura uses. I get excellent base through my 6X9's even with the subs turned off. Best thing to do is go somewhere Bostons are sold and listen to them, I think you'll be impressed.

When it came time to upgrade my system, I listened to allot of speakers MB's, Bostons, Infinity's..............for the money I felt the Bostons were the best. The Boston subs are unreal, whether you want that ghetto bass or just crisp clear bass they definetly deliver.

pkane- $449.00 is MSRP for the Pro's, see if Good Guys will deal a bit on the price, ya never know unless you ask! I think the 6X9's MSRP is $300.00, they may cut you a deal on the entire set.
