there's a good reason for that, its how they keep there product at top quality(same as comptech) They have to make money somewhere so instead of using crapy componets to build they give the retailers a lower discount. This is why you can never find a really good deal on quality products

Bostone does make great speakers though, I hope you can find the deal your looking for.

what sucks is those z series speakers were being sold at good guys and since good guys was going to stop selling boston, they were willing to sell me the 1000 speakers for 500 bucks but i didn't buy it. i feel stupid now that i look back on it.

I brought the demo Z6 at Good Guys at Ventura for only 350+tax, and finally installed in my CLS two weeks ago. Oh men, it sounds awsome, and I am a happy man right now. I used to had the Boston 6.5 pro series in front, and let me tell you, they are just not even close to the Z6. The High is so clear and, but the mid is a little bit low because I run only 75 watts for it (JL 300/4). I am thinking to take the JL 300/4 and replace it with 2 JL 300/2, but I need to safe some denero first. But once again, I am very satisfied right now with the Z6, because not only they sound incredible, but also I have them very cheap.

Peace
