anyone have the boston acoustics FX5 speakers? those are the 5.25" fronts. now I just installed them into my 96 2.5 TL. I still have the stock deck and the rear speakers. I have also bought alpine 6939s for the rear and the alpine cda-7873 deck which is coming tuesday (sold out, order).
now my question is, anyone have the boston FX5s (100W max)? do you like them? because when I turn out the volume to max on my stock deck, they get fuzzy and sound sorta bad. do you think it is the deck? do speakers have "break-in" periods? thanks.
if I do return these speakers for other ones, what speakers should I get, that cost about $100. another boston or some alpine, or eclipse? thanks.

I have heard a few sets of boston coaxials and they all were great. I am sure all you need is some good clean power to them and they will shine. I had my Boston Pro's with my stock deck and they pretty much sucked. Now I have my clarion pushing them and they are alright. Can't wait till I get some real power to them.

Well, I don't have those Bostons, but I have the Rally RC61 component set and RX97 6x9 coaxials running off an Eclipse head unit. Mine are a couple of years old and I have had absolutely no problems with them at all. I listened to a lot of speakers when I bought these and for the price range I was looking for (around $300-$400 for everything) these were absolutely the best in my opinion. I would definitely buy another set of Boston's when I end up going for some newer speakers. Hope this helps...

i bought my stuff from tweeter. i got the alpine 7873 deck ($330), the boston FX5 ($100), and the alpine 6939s ($68*) + 3 yr warranty. total about $570
not including installation. i want to do the install all myself but can't find instructions! i just need to know how to replace my rear speakers for my 2.5 and the deck.
