Bose questions
Bose questions
I posted this in the G35 forums too, but have always gotten good help here before, so just thought I'd see if anyone has suggestions on this...
Ok, so I have searched and found answers to some of the questions I have, but would still like a few things answered if I could...
Ok, so I replaced the stock HU with an aftermarket Flip out DVD player (a cheap one, but good enough for my needs), and now I've decided I need to replace the Bose crap because it's horrible. I had the same HU in my Acura and left all the Bose and it was decent. I didn't turn the HU volume past 30 because it was nice and loud there. Now in the G, I put it to max volume (54 I believe it is) and it sounds like it did in the Acura when it was on about 25. It sounds clear, but just doesn't go loud enough and makes me uncomfortable always having my HU on max volume.
I have never actually upgraded mids and highs, so I just have a few questions.
The wiring harness that came with the kit I bought to install the HU had all the speaker connections through RCA inputs which I connected to the low level outputs on the HU. So, do I take out the Bose amp, and run the wires into the high level input of a new amp, or do I have to put LOC's on them?
Will the existing wiring from the amp to the speakers be ok once I change out the speakers?
Will the tweeters in the front doors still work with another amp, or should I replace those? Are there wires running from the Bose amp to those? Or should I get speakers that have the little tweeter built in and just leave those unhooked?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated, I am looking to do this soon. Also, I don't have an amp or speakers yet, so any suggestions on those would help too.
Thanks!
