BOSE crossover settings limiting aftermarket speaker potential?

If I install aftermarket coaxials in my 02 tl, will higher frequencies be sent to the speakers to drive the tweeters? Will I experience an upgrade in sound quality if I simply replace the speakers? I'm not looking to spend more than 150 so signal processor and 4 channel amp aren't really options. I don't have tweeter housing and I'm not looking to cut into the a-pillars so that is why I'm going with the coaxials. Does anyone have any advice/input for me? Thanks!

I dont know if you've purchased your new speakers but here's what i'd do in your situation. It will give you more Vol and clarity as well as mid-bass. Since stock Bose stereos are 2-ohm, stay with a 2-ohm speaker (Infinity/JBL). If you go to a 4-ohm you'll loose a decent amount of volume because you'd have reduced the power by half. I think the signal going to the door's are full-range since unlike the CL, you have no tweeters so adding 2-way in the doors and 2-way/3-way in the rear will make you think you added an amp. But the more efficient drivers you installed helps this. Plus you added 4 more speakers (tweeters) that the car didn't have from the start. Also while in the doors and rear deck if you can squeeze a little more $, add dyna-mat around every speaker. This will give you the most mid-bass. Infinity 2-way drivers are 59.99-69.99/pr. The tweeters swivel too so the can be positioned towards your ears.
