Bluetooth...can it do this?
Can Bluetooth press buttons for you while on a call? Say for instance my phone is in the trunk and I call into my voicemail...Are there commands I can make while in my voicemail so I can press keys that I would on the phone to skip through and/or delete messages?

Bluetooth Enhancement???
Better yet, maybe Acura can produce an update to the Navi that will put the keypad on the screen! That would make the Bluetooth perfect! Saying the numbers is quite a pain. It is easier to just take out the phone and press them on the phone. But, having to take out the phone defeats the purpose of Bluetooth!

yeah the response time on bluetooth is sooo slow, right when it starts saying the numbers back to me, i look quick to verify the number hit the button and just say "call"... a keypad would be nice

You need to say "send xxx" or it will often miss the first or first two numbers. You will then have to confirm by saying "send" again. This is a little slow but works very well.
I wouldn't want to see a keypad on the navi. The whole point of the HFL is so that you can keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the steering wheel. If there was a keypad on the navi you couldn't do either.
I wouldn't mind an option that obviates the necessity of confirming every command. On numbers the phone is virtually perfect. I would like to say the number, wait a second and the phone just dials or sends the number.

I had a bitch of a time getting HFL to recognize numbers until I read this in the manual. I would just start "937" and 19 times out of 20 it would put "837". Now if I do "call 937" it behaves properly. But why do I have to say call at the beginning AND the end?

They have set up the HFL so that every command requires confirmation. I think they have done this to avoid misdialing. However, once you get the hand of saying the numbers quickly I find the HFL rarely gets number strings wrong. I think you need to say "call", "send" and "dial" initially to let the system know what you are about to do.

my system is always confusing 9 with 8. I'll try saying "call" first. Thanks for the tip!

Keypads is necessary for Voice Mail!
I'm not looking for the keypad on the Navi to dial numbers as much as I am to press numbers while on a call. I spend at least 30 minutes a day in my car and on voice mail. Using the HFL with voice mail is a pain. So, I have to take out my phone and press the numbers. That kinda defeats the purpose of Bluetooth where I should be able to leave my phone in my pocket.

The Audi and Mercedes HFL can automatically get phone lists from the phone itself. This is a better solution to the HFL that acura has. I hope they somehow make it available as a future upgrade to the software. It's a pain to have to speak 30 names into the system so you can dial.

What I have done for this function is to put a number of them as stored items in my HFL phonebook. So, for example, after I say "call voicemail", I then say "send 'password'". After my mail box is opened, I can say "send 'next message'", "send 'previous message'", "send 'sign-off'", etc., all of which I have stored in the HFL under those various names as the required series of numbers that I otherwise would have pressed on the cell phone key pad. The send command, with that string of numbers, operates fast enough that I haven't had any problems doing any of this stuff with my office voicemailbox.
