Blitzsafe Questions
Blitzsafe Questions
I am looking at a Blitzsafe adapter for an XM receiver. If I get the "D" version, it supposedly supports both the Alpine CD changer and the XM radio. I understand the accessory selection is via the CD button on the stock head unit, but exactly how does it work?
Is it something like this:
Press "CD" Once -> Stock CD
Press "CD" Again -> XM
Press "CD" Again -> Alpine Changer
Press "CD" Again -> Stock CD
Also, if I have the "D" version of the Blitzsafe, but only have an XM radio connected, what happens?
I don't plan to install the Alpine MP3 CD changer now, but I might buy the "D" Blitzsafe since it is only a little more money and would leave me with the option of installing it later. I would just like to know how it works first.

i know the way the normal blitzsafe worked was the following
press the CD button u got the stock in dash changer
press the CD button again you would get the whatever was plugged into the blitzsafe
now unless the new version has 2 input ports it should works the same way

I don't know about the "D" version that has support for both a CD changer and XM, but I do know that the CD button does act as the "switch" from the factory CD changer to whatever accessory you have installed.
i.e.:
Press "CD" Once -> Stock CD
Press "CD" Again -> Accessory
Press "CD" Once -> Stock CD
It would be a safe assumption that if it had inputs for two accessories you would just press the CD button once again.
