Amir, if you dont want any cutting, you should go with 5.25" components. All you have to do is go to Home Depot or any hardware store and buy the foam tape which is used to seal doors and windows.
I bought MB Quart DSD216 cuz MB Quart website told me it would fit. It fits alrite but it needs a thick ass 3/4" spacer. Luckily, I got the tool and some MDF board to make the spacer. From that experience, I dont think any 6.5" would fit in stock opening and depth. Good luck

PS. try to install the components yourself to see you can break your own record

there is no disadvantage to using spacers....if you can find the right ones or can make one. the disadvantage of cutting is if you want to put back the stock components, you might not be able to. also, you might end up cutting more than you'd want.

i have the infinity reference series 6.5. they fit without cutting. i had to remove the plastic basket where the stock speaker sits on but that's it. if ever i need to put back the stock components, i can. not sure what infinity's your talking about. kappas? i found the tweeters to harsh for my ears. mb quartz....you'll need spacers...and also tweeters are to harsh for my ears. infinity perfects have a depth of 2 3/4. you'll most likely need spacers.

also, amir, i would personally stick with tweeters whose domes are made of silk. other materials, like aluminum, titanium have a tendency to make the highs very shrill and ear peircing. that's JMO. i think NOLACLS will back me up on this. yet, i'm sure there are metal domed tweeters out there that sound good....either i just haven't heard them or they're way off my price that i didn't bother listening to them.

Icy you are correct...I personally like the silk dome over the others. As far as cutting I had to cut my doors. I started off with the new kappa's...not the green ones and they required cutting of the door. Then I got the CDT's because the tweets on the kappa's were way to bright! I have a 3/4" MDF spacer and the magnet of the 6.5 is almost hitting the glass. I might try a 1" but I am not sure if it will clear the door panel when it is put back on...does anyone have a 1" spacer???? I cut the door myself using a dremil tool and I was able to leave the stock holes so when I put the blowz speakers back in they will be able to use the stock holes...so no problems there. If you dont want to do too much modding to the door go with the 5 1/4 but you cant fit 6.5 with a little cutting. Just make sure you put something on the bear metal so it will not rust.

you like the infinity kappas?????? i hated them, paid $200 for them for my 98 trd camry and they were the worst speakers i've ever had. My sonys which was half the price played so much louder and clearier with a better bass.

anything aftermarket can make the "BOSE stock shit" "premium sound system" a joke. Even 20 buck speakers have a big chance at it.

BOSE SUCKS
