Battery to Trunk Wire Route.... anyone?
Battery to Trunk Wire Route.... anyone?
How hard is it to run an 8 gauge wire from the battery to the trunk? Any holes in the firewall I can use? Where should i drill? I'm setting up an amp in the trunk what is my best option?

piece of cake... there is a whole in the firewall right above and to the right of the gas pedal (if you are looking from the inside of the car)... you will see a rubber circle plug and under the hook you will see a grommet... punch a hole in that and run the wire thru there.... from there i ran down the driver along the door and str8 to the trunk....
I did it last night and it's simple. If you get under your dash on the drivers side and follow the gas pedal all the way up, you'll see it. Above the gas pedal mechanism there is a cardboard circle shaped cutout piece. Pull it out and you will see there is some foam behind/glued to it. Remove this circle piece and behind it is a plastic like circle piece. Punch a hole in it. I found it easier to punch a hole in the plastic from the engine compartment. It's very easily located within the engine compartment and it's surprisingly high on the firewall. It doesn't seem like the hole is that far up on the firewall but it's right below the windsheild wipers. Good luck. If you still can't find it, I'll take pics of my wire tonight.

I ran my wire down the kickpanels on the drivers side. If you lift up on the bottom (part you sit on) of the rear seat, it should unclick. From there I snuck the wire up through the seat braces. I used a snake from the trunk. I sent a coathanger down behind the rear seat from the trunk until it came out inside the car (undeneith the seat part). I taped the wire to the coathanger and snuck it back up into the trunk. It was quit simple but required some searching for an open spot to stick the coathanger down.
