Battery/electrical problems

Hi so I have a 99 tl and its been sitting for a few weeks, and today im trying to charge it up. I noticed as the engine is running the car has a sudden drop in power. the lights flash off and the gauges die for just a second. Is it possible the battery needs to be replaced and is causing this? Im worried it might be a short somewhere, Im not too knowledgeable about the electrical system so any help is appreciated!

^ Foo, cars work the same, they have similar insides, which at times malfunction and or break... There are universal ways of diagnosing a problem. No need to give me directions of where to post.

Dude i was trying you to help you out cause no one even really goes on this part of azine and if you posted it in the main forums a lot more people would have read your problem and already gave you an answer by now...plus you posted it in the audio/video/electronics section which is mainly for car audio??

Wow, you really didn't read this thread did you? Dykyy is not the OP. He's the one answering the OP's question... Try reading next time slick...

OP, to answer your question, I'd first take a Digital MultiMeter, set to read DC Voltage, and check the voltage of your battery with the car off. Then start the car and check it again. Bring back the voltage numbers and we'll be able to help you more...
