Is bandpass considered better than sealed box?
I was talking to a sales guy at the stereo shop today and he told me that if I switch my custom build sealed box for a bandpass, I will get more bass. Is that true? If it is, then what brand should I go with?
Would this one work:

I've always known that sealed gave the tightest bass response. It's the least efficient of the 3 major box designs (sealed, ported, and bandpass). But if you want the loud ass boom that you can hear 10 blocks away, bandpass is a good way to go about. However, if you want a clean sound, you should probably stick with sealed. The sales guy prolly just wants to redo your system and make $$.

From reading the article I figured that a bandpass has to be proffesionally build and tuned for a specific type of sub, so if it's not done right it could result in a mess.
I am not willing to bite the bullet and take that chance, guess I am sticking with my sealed box.

Enclosure Design
The most accurate bass will come from a sealed enclosure and if it is designed properly for the subs being used, will sound great and offer plenty of extension.
Bandpass will offer the most bass, but will be muddy in comparison.
It all depends on the subs being used as many have to be installed in a specific size and type of enclosure to sound their best.
My Boston Pro Series subs do not work well in a bandpass enclosure, not to mention that a bandpass enclosure has to be designed properly for the specific subs being used or you will blow your subs.
It all depends on what type of sound you are looking for.
I chose accuracy and overall balance others just want booming bass.
It is simply a matter of taste.
