Balun

Not sure where mercman is, so I am looking for some baluns online to convert my HU outputs to unbalanced - would this type of balun be OK for my purpose (connect factory HU to a standard amp)?

The RJ45 reference there is what throws me. Looks like that is a converter designed for an RJ45 input and RCA output, so no, its not gonna do the job. I haven't seen anything else on the market similar to Merc's units. Unfortunately I'd say switch which amp you're planning on using to one more suited for the task.

IMO, just hang on to your gear and add a few dollars to your budget over the next few months and do it right.

BALUN and HARNESS

I actually have a brand new Harness and Balun from Mercman that I have just sitting in my room. Only taken out of the plastic bag once the day I got it. Since then I have decided to leave my stereo and speakers the way they are.

I would be willing to sell to you for the same price as Jeff sold to me + shipping (not the shipping that I paid, I will absorb that cost)
