wow, looks like a nice device. Too bad they did not specify home much HDD space is avalible on the hard drive. They also failed to explain if it would work as a radio also, or if it is like a secondary unit that requires a a/b switch or automatic switching module for the amps and rest of the system.

Looks like a nice unit. I'd like to see alpine come out with a mp3/dvd/cd/fm H/u with a winamp style playlist where you can see the whole tracklisting at a glance!!!!!

Alpine, I hope your reading this

The unit doesn't come with a hard drive. You will have to purchase a harddrive separately. The type of hard drive needed is an IDE 3.5" which can be of any size(storange).

It also says that the unit has RCA out puts. The only device that takes this would be amps, since the headunits RCA's are only outputs. The state that the unit can be hooked up with a RF Modulator. Any audiophiles out there have another way of hooking one of these up?

Hey they just updated the info on this product..

on sale for $499 with 30GB disk included...

But the real question is, will it go into the same input as the CD changer or will you have to connect it to your CD changer's AUX input??

Phi, there are a couple of manufaturers that make portable mp3/dvd players, check into Apex, Napa. I found an in dash dvd/mp player by clarion, I was planing on getting that when I change the head unit.
