backup cam users, car wash, tape, or screws?

I didn't get much of a response in the DIY backup camera thread, so I'm hoping to get more visibility here. Those of you who have done the backup camp DIY, do you take your cameras off when you go through a (hand) car wash? Do you attach yours with double sided tape or do you prefer to screw it in through the trunk lid? I've seen some people on here use the tape, but I don't know how secure that is for daily driving

Double sided tape only, never removed it for washing.

I went through auto washes, I gave it hand bathes, and it rained like hell. When I did go to remove the tape over a year later, it was still as strong as day 1. That stuff is great.

Just make sure that when you APPLY it, you clean the trim you are going to stick it to thoroughly, finish with a alcohol wipe, let that dry, and then stick it up there good and give it 15 minutes to set in a nice dry environment. Done right, that stuff will hold forever.

You used the thicker foam type double sided tape right? The kind that usually has a white and green backing?

Guys I need to purchase a long rca cable to go with my backup cam. What length worked best for you all? 3ft? 6ft? 12ft?

I got a 10ft, seems a tiny bit short, I'd go for a 12 if I were you.

I still might return mine for a 12 actually.
