Hello All,

I am thinking of installing the Pioneer AVIC-D1 in a 97 2.5 TL. Crutchfield states that this unit does not fit. Does anyone have any idea why? I thought the OEM HU is double DIN.

I apologize if this was answered before on this forum but unfortunately I did not find any thread.

Crutchfield does not have the double din video dash kit for the Avic-D1. I called them and asked the same question for my 03 tl. You can get the dash kit made from Tweeter or another car audio place of your choice. But rest assured it DOES fit.

Pardon my ignorance, but who or what is Tweeter? and how do I get in touch?
Finally, exactly why do we need a 2 DIN kit? Do you mean that the LCD monitor does not flush with the OEM HU trim in the console?

 

Tweeter is a store. I would contact StreetEffectz via PM or maybe he will post on this thread, and ask him to make you a dashkit for you
