Aux line location suggestions
Aux line location suggestions
I am installing a Blitzsafe Aux line into my non Navi 2005 TSX. I was planning to run a line through to the center console. I would obviously need to drill a small hole into the center console to thread the Aux line into it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of plug I can use to cover up the drilled hole where the wire comes through so it looks clean? Or if someone has a suggestion on a better place to run the wire?
By the way where exactly is the 14 pin connector located once I removed the tray under the HU? Is it on the bottom of the HU or behind the HU?
Thanks

I installed an Isimple/Peripheral unit in my 2005 non-navi and I believe the installation is similar. After you remove the bin, the 14-pin connector is directly above the opening. I spent a lot of time looking around the area, behind the radio, etc - but found the connector directly above the opening. It's somewhat of a trick to get the connector out because you have to press a tab to release it. Look at the connectors on you Blitzsafe and you will probably see the little tab on the connector.
I drilled a hole in the rear of the bin. The Isimple has a cable with a DIN connector (about 1/2 inch in diameter) and the Ipod dock connector on the other end. The hole in the bin was about 1/2 inch for the DIN connector to pass through. The stowed Isimple/Perpheral interface box in an area in the console. I did not cover the hole in the bin any further. It was all the way in the rear of the bin and inconspicuous. I just leave the cable in the bin and my Ipod sits in there. I don't touch the Ipod much so the bin door can even be kept closed. And its more secure because the whole thing is out of sight.
You have aux jacks (RCA sockets). I guess those could sit in the bin too.
