Audio Quality

I have had my 2001 CL-S w/navi for about six months and have quickly realized the Acura/Bose stereo sounds awful. Is there any possibility of an amp failure or other feature that would explain this. My 2003 Nissan Frontier Supercharged pickup was similar in that it sounded much better when playing CD's than when playing the radio. I prefer to leave everything factory on the front end (dash appearance). All help is appreciated.

How does it sound aweful? Does it sound distorted at a volume that wasn't distorting before?

It is clear, but it sounds as if it is severely underpowered. The CD sounds better, but the radio side is anemic. I was wondering if there is a separate amp that could have gone bad or is this as good as it gets?

Does it only sound bad at higher volume. More than likely, the speakers are the ones that is distorting. Possibly from too much power (they dont handle much)
