I just finished doing a headunit install on a 2001 CL-S (and Apline CDA-9885 w/XM and HD-Radio). What a PIA! The thread link above has an expired link in itself. I assume you have seen the disassembly at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PPyaN2fs30 .. Fortunately, there are still a few AUX kits on the market. GTA Carkits comes to mind. The well know Blitzsafe HON AUX/DMX V.1 is another.
Personally, since you WILL have to do the complete disassembly in the video above (they missed the "hidden screw" on the left kick panel, BTW), I would look a doing a new headunit. Use the Metra 70-1725 wiring harness, and that will keep your original Bose amp (don't forget to hook up the blue wire on the adapter also!). And an appropriate dash kit, of course.
And put a whole weekend aside for the install. These CL's were one of the worst in having so much disassembly! I miss the simplicity of Toyotas.

isimple will allow you to still use the steering wheel controls. we had a vendor on here that sold it a while back. he is no longer on here, but you should still be able to look him up. Not sure if he still carries them but worth a shot.

Order a blitzsafe ipod adapter. It will plug into the back of the HU & will give you a ipod connector. It will charge the ipod, & you get sound. You will have volume control on the HU & the steering wheels controls. And that is it. Track control will have to be done on the ipod. I had this setup for 4 years & was happy with it. I just sold my car with it.

think if your gonna get an adapter, you should get one that utilizes all of the steering wheel controls. having track control is a necessity for me. pointless otherwise.
