when you guys install the ps2 in your car does it have to connect with the parking brake or is it independent so it can be used when the car is in motion

I have mine independent of the parking brake. I can use it while I'm driving, not saying "I" use it. My passengers, anyways the navi screen is too small to play PS2 games on it. I only watch movies on the PS2 with the Navi screen. To play games, u gotta have the monitors on your headrests in order for it to be seen more clearly, at least the 6 inch ones.

Hehe, you need to get a video decoder AKA "Video in my Navi Kit". Right now no one has this rare commodity except ME! and a few other people. StreetEffectz is supposed to be building this unit soon as the parts come in. But who knows how much longer.

so you need the Video Decoder, RF modulator, PS2 with all the wires and a line noise filter and someone to install it. Then your all good to go.

right now, cost is of no problem to me. I make minimum wage at Mac D's you know. j/k.
What does the video in my navi kit consist of and where can i get the parts, i am greatful for the info you have shared with me. By the way, do you know the depth of the stock sub and if i could fit a 10 sub in there. If i cut the bar from underneath the sub, will i get flexing on the cars frame, any creaking sounds ar anything else negative. I want to keep my bad boy as stocky on the inside as possible. Thanks buddy.

AznTL: you don't need the decoder if u have the Alpine unit. I think there is something that prevents u from watching video from the alpine unit while u are driving, that u may have to overcome.

bigman: It's not the cost, that's the issue either. Right now there is none available. Do a search in the Audio & Video section for "how to build your own Vidoe Navi kit" it's posted by SteveSTMS.
Now as far as the sub is concerned it all depends on which sub you will be getting. Also if you wanna direct that question to Ron @ StreetEffectz, I think he's the best person to answer that for u.

I am not sure what the exact name of that function is. You can e-mail Streeteffectz to get the specific answer as far as solution and how to rewire your CVA. It has something to do with your parking brake. If you brakes are not engaged then you can't watch the video, something that Alpine put in for legal purposes so if anyone crashed their cars, they can't be held responsible. You get it now?
