Any opinions on GPS Navigator?

I saw this today.

http://store.palmone.com/product/ind...=voice#featBen

Manufacturer link: http://www.tomtom.com/products/produ...237&Language=4

In short, they have GPS accessory packages for Palm, Power PC and offer stand-alone navi as well. The cool one (in the first link) actually has a bluetooth GPS sensor. One less wire to route and worry about.

If you have the PDA, it would cost $300 for BT version, and if you don't probably about the same for the PDA. So, for ~$600 you get GPS navi + color PDA.

Not a bad deal. Any thoughts?

I've been using a Garmin iQue for a while now and I love it. http://www.garmin.com/products/iQue3600/

Here's how I mounted it in my TSX (the speaker is by the shifter):

No offense, but that cable would drive me nuts.

How's screen legibility in sunlight?

It's not a permanent mount so I don't leave it set up like that all the time. I could route the cable better if this was the only car I used it in but it isn't so it comes with me. Legibility is pretty good in daylight but I mostly rely on the voice navigation.

My girlfriend has this.. its really nice.. if you get a big enough SD card you can use it as an mp3 player (but not a portable because the battery life isnt good enough to use it for hours on end w/o a power source) but the GPS works really well and its nice because you can put your contacts in the palm and have it map to the contacts..

Way cooler then the stand alone devices IMHO..

It's a Beltronics Vector FX2 G-Meter (accelerometer): http://www.beltronics.com/fx.html

I've been impressed with it but just don't show your 1/4 mile times to anyone on this board because they won't believe you. :P I have yet to take it to the drag strip to verify its accuracy but I don't have any reason to doubt it either. Car and Driver did a review of them a while ago and they said they were quite accurate.

Seeing how many G's you pull around corners is pretty cool and that's mostly what I use it for.
