Another Non-Navi to Navi Conversion *56K Beware*

Well after weeks of planning and hours of work it is finnaly close to finished... I am still waiting on the Navi unit bracket and the GPS antenna from Acura but for the most part it is working... The screen has a scratch on it so i am researching repair methods now.... You cant notice it with the screen on so it isnt that big of a deal... it just shows up pretty bad in the pics.

I built the entire wire harness from scratch (friggin ton of soldering and splicing) so I am pretty proud of the results... I will post some more pics once i have the antenna installed (hopefully be in friday)... All opinions welcome...

Great job...I will be doing the same thing in about a week. I have everything I need but I am on vacation right now. Once I get back I will give it a go. Any words of advice for this?? Were you able to build up the harnesses before putting them in the car or should I just wait until I am installing it? And how long did it take?? Thanks for the info. Any other advice that you have would be greatly appreciated.

I am gonna be doing on a '02 TLS. Not sure if the wiring is different or not though. I have the ETM with the schemetics I need but I was just wondering how you went about building up the harness. I haven't done anything this detailed before but I have done more car stereo systems than I care to remember. Never had any problems there so I think this should go fairly smoothly. It'll be a nice challenge and I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Portable GPS Unit--locate where?

I'm much less ambitious than you. Although your results paid off. It looks great!

I recently bought a Garmin GPS unit that comes ready to attach to the windshield. The CL windshield is so raked, I'd need gorilla length arms to reach the touch screen if I placed it along the bottom of the windshield. I'd appreciate any suggestions for alternative placement ideas. Thanks.

Not as easy to route the wires but I'd put it on the drivers side/ far left side.
