Amps and subs...

I am buying an amp soon and I was wondering if anyone's heard of the brand, Planet Audio? Someone's trying to sell me a 1200 watt for $400 and thats about how much i was going to get for the Coustic 600 watts amp.

Also, how many 12' subs will fit in the spare tire compartment of the 96 3.2 TL?

Re: Amps and subs...

Planet Audio makes some pretty good amps. I would say they are on par with Rockford and Alpine. Does he want to sell you the Big Bang amp? I can't really tell you what I think of the amp unless I know what you will be using it for...

How many subs will fit in your tire well will depend on many different factors. You should start by choosing som subs...

He has the planet audio D-class 1200w Mono Block amp. I am going to use it with 2, 12's Kicker Comp subs.

Do you have the model number for that amp? I just want to make sure which one it is. If it is the one I am thinking of, it may be a overkill for those subs. Those subs have a 150w rms rating each...

I don't have the model number for the amp, but when i went to planet audio's website, there was only 3, D-class amps, and i think its probably the P1250d version...

OK so it is 400wx1 at 4ohms and 750wx1 at 2ohms. Thie should be OK for those subs. It is still little too much power for them. Do you already have the subs or are those just what you are planning on buying?
