Thank you very much. I have to say...the more time that passes the happier I am I did this. Amazing looking mod that is very understated. It fits right in with the style and class of this car IMHO.

Amp'd Front Emblem
Got the front emblem from Steve and installed it today.
Kit comes with a brand new front "A" emblem, custom modified by Amp'd in your choice color LEDs, about 3 feet of wire, splice type wiretaps, a polishing cloth and complete instructions.
The installation is a bit more complicated than the rear emblem, but not difficult at all. Short version: remove engine plastic, remove radiator cover, unclip top of bumper and pull it away, unscrew grill bar from behind (5 7mm/philips), remove old emblem, drill a hole using the included template, feed the wires through and reinstall, tap the passenger side parking/turn signal wires for power.
While I was routing the wires prior to installing the taps, it occurred to me that I have a set of JnC headlights on the way and will need to remove the bumper. I chose not to use the included wiretaps and got some 3M T-Taps, which tap the line into a single female spade connector. I added another male/female connector up closer to the grille, as well. In hindsight, I only really needed the one behind the grille and could have used the Amp'd taps at the lights.
OK, here are the pics:
T-taps at the light harness:

My rigged up wire harness. I use Liquid electrical tape to waterproof everything. You can also buy the connectors with heatshrink installed--very convenient.

The end result:

The white is very subtle, especially on darker color cars. It almost looks like reflections of the headlights/license plate lights on the chrome.
I'm thinking I should have gone blue to match the interior lights, but I want to give it some time to grow on me. I have a lot of other changes to be installed soon, too. Thank God winter is over!
Something else I found interesting, but completely off topic. I dropped the turn signal bulb while working and busted the filament, so my emblem install turned into a switchback/resistor install.
The 48LED Type 1 switchbacks from V-LEDs shine white normally, then blink amber-white-amber when the turn signal is engaged. The white light behind the OEM amber lense is an almost perfect match to the Nokya Yellows in the OEM fogs. When the turn signal engages, it turns a nice rich amber. Pleasantly surprised---too bad they go back to JnC in a few days.
Parking lights and Nokya DRLs (75%):

Looks great man! Good job on the install and DIY. A quick disconnect behind is a good idea for people that may need to remove bumper etc. Good call.

Hey Rockstar,
I think your car looks great!
Those are some good shots of it and the Amp'd Emblems front and back. Subtle and classy with just enough light to illuminate the "A". Thanks for the post and the pictures. I am just as glad that you like them too.
Would love to see a picture of your car, same spot, with the lights off, so everyone can see the comparison without an Amp'd Emblem. An on...then off...shot.
Thanks again,
Ampd

Nice job, rockstar.
Yes, it definitely completes the look. It's so subtle, it appears to be stock from Acura.
I'm beginning to think that LEDs in white is the "non-ricer" element that keeps this from going over the top. Of course, its all in the eye of the beholder.
In any case, white looks great with my new switchback/JnC headlights:

I still have to caulk around the emblem to kill the light bleed from the bottom (per Steve).
I may still try a set of blue, just to see. If I don't like it, someone will get a good deal in the AZ Black Market!
Bottom line, if you get one Amp'd emblem, you will need the other. Steve should sell these as a set!

^^That's not a bad idea!
A bundle package...and take a couple of bucks off. Good call!
About the light bleedout...it's totally unseen so take a fingerfull of your favorite cock (sp?!) and put a dab under the lip of the A. Do it at night and you'll see the light bleedout disappear. You can probably use toothpaste if you had to. I really don't think you can see underneat the emblem where the gap is.
LOVIN IT! Great job btw...placed order for the switchbacks, some red turns and 4 resistors Sun night. Can't wait!

I know dude....was just being funny. OMG...if you had seen this hippy instructor guy teaching our RCS training for Home Inspections...he was hilarious...he kept repeating (just keep pumping it full of caulk...yeah...and there's all kinds of caulk, white caulk, black caulk". Had a good time with that!
Anyway...for sure...will do. I'll probably snap some pics. I got the 48 tower Vleds red ones. They were on sale for $29 so I figured I'd dish out the extra scratch and do them at the same time as the switchbacks. Plust...found a code online from a lexus forum that got me 10% off. the acurazine one was done.

For anyone else looking to buy from V-LEDs, check their Facebook site for current codes.
Rockstar, I wish you lived near me. The shot Steve needs is a side-by-side of you & me, facing different directions at dusk. Now that would be a great shot!

Surgeon? WTF...I hope you've exhausted all avenues up to and including a new EXPENSIVE bed, and a FEW consecutive trips to the chiropractor. Please do if you haven't already. Recently, I thought I was shot...turned out to be a crap mattress. Now, I'm back to riding mountain bike once a week and feeling stronger than ever.
Off topic, totally.

Thanks, but I saw the MRI and it was definitely fucked up. I had been dealing with pain, numbness and tingling down my left leg for about a year. I thought it was my car, since that was about the time I purchased it. Man, I would have been bummed if that was the case.
Hopping for a quick recovery and normality!
I was slated to drive to Sebastian on Friday. I don't think that is happening.

I think the "HOPPING for a quick recovery" might have been the problem to begin with
I hope you're ok too man...I guess it is what it is...you feel it, you fix it, you move on. Get a good bed for afterward though, ok?
Take care,
J.

Ive got white interior LEDs and replaced the LED over the plate to a brighter white. im planning on doing switchbacks in the near future so i am thinking of getting a white emblem so everything is the same white color. what do you think?
The white Amp'd emblems look great with the switchbacks.

Updates!
Ok, I will admit, I loved this mod SO much that I decided to opt in for the extreme lit front to make up for the fact that the headlights are bright. SUPER happy!

As you can probably see, they are rated in the 10,000K range. I de rated them a little for longer life, but I had to beg (literally) to get these bin codes for these LEDs. I have about enough of these left to make around 4 more. After that, I will need to start the begging process again. Hopefully the gift I sent the managers will refresh their memory and hook me up with the best bin codes again!
I have some new pictures, from some of Acura's old and new "cousins"...that I will post soon. Some very good looking shots. I think you guys need to see what the "other side of the family" is doing!!

Sounds awesome...
And absolutely...could intstall this in my sleep at this point.
AND PS...I'd be glad to help anyone local. I'll even solder it for you.
PSS...went to a friend of mine's locally tonight...the guard at the guardhouse made mention of how cool the emblem lighting up was. FIRST random compliment I've gotten. What a product!
