Talking Amp/sub connection

I want to disconnect the original sub and install a different amp & sub; what do I need to install this correctly in the car? I've read that I would need a line-out converter. Is this true? If so, would I even need to disconnect the original amp? Any step-by-step advice appreciated.

Where you been?

Ya, you need a LOC... I just hooked into the factory sub wires, after the amp. Thats about it.

Yup, get a line output converter, use the leads to the factory sub for your source for it. I'd highly suggest that you use the optional source on the fuse box to supply your remote power on, especially since you've gotta haul the main power cable right past there. The optional source is located on the back of the drivers fuse box located in the lower left most post. I'm going to write the proceedures I used to do this which will include everything including how to take out the back seat (was kinda pesky since I'm pretty tall).
